If you can walk, you should walk

TO THE EDITOR:I'm in a wheelchair after losing both my legs in the fall of 2014 and it irks me to see people parking in handicap spots just so they don't have to walk so far. When I say something, you just shrug it off like it's no big deal, but if someone else does it you fuss like a little baby. Those spots are for people like me, or for people who use walkers or canes. Just because you're old it's still no excuse to use a handicap spot. Some people borrow their friend's car or drive a family car that has handicap tags or placards and they think this gives them the right to park in a handicap spot. It doesn't.
