As time progresses, aging becomes an inevitable reality for those fortunate enough to experience long lives. During my annual visits to McMinnville to reunite with my parents for roughly eight weeks each year, I have observed a concerning lack of age-friendly and disability-accessible infrastructure in various buildings, shopping centers, streets and sidewalks throughout both the city and county. It is perplexing why city and county authorities have seemingly overlooked compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or failed to enforce ADA regulations during new constructions or business renovations.
