Wynnette Elizabeth York Gross, 86, of the Hubbard’s Cove community of Grundy County died Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the home of her son in Morrison. She was born in Morrison and was the daughter of the late Joe York and Mary Belle Duncan York. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and gardening and was a longtime member of Wesley’s Chapel Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Gross; brother, Lavern York, who was killed in the Korean conflict; and stepbrother, Jess Tenpenny.She is survived by her son, Alan (Pam) Gross of Morrison; grandson, Brad (Donna) Gross and their children, Kelsey, Brady, and Shelbe, of McMinnville; granddaughter, Kresta Jacobs and her daughters, Kaylen and Anna Kate of McMinnville; special niece, Shirley Aughingaugh; special nephew, Jess Tenpenny Jr.; and several other nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including special caretakers, Valerie, Charlotte, Monica, Faye, and the staff of Aseracare Hospice.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley’s Chapel Methodist Church with Dr. Dean Northcutt, Clayton Jones, and Jess Tenpenny officiating.
