Mr. Winford Eugene “Gene” Pelham, 82, of McMinnville died Sunday, June 17, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Warren County, was a retired construction superintendent with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), served in the Tennessee National Guard, and was a member of Smartt First Baptist Church. Mr. Pelham was preceded in death by his parents Vance and Fannie Lela Simmons, wife of 65 years Mary Edith Shockley Pelham, sister Liza Pelham, and brothers James Pelham, Frenchie Pelham, H.T. “Zeke” Pelham, and Tommy Pelham.Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law Ed and Karen Pelham and Mark and Tammy Pelham, grandchildren Bradley (Ashley) Pelham, Shawn (Corrina) Pelham, and Heather (Ryan) Perris, great-grandchildren Colton and Collins Pelham, Olive Pelham, Kayla Perris, and Cameron James Perris, and brothers Paris (Rhonda) Pelham and Troy (Barbara) Pelham.
