McMinnville resident Willie Joe King, 64, died May 22 at his home after an extended illness.A truck driver and a member of the Church of God, he was the son of the late Wilson E. and Ruby C. King and was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly King and Darlene King; and nephew, Michael D. Muncey.He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Campbell King of Altamont; daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and Ricky Comfort, Penny S. Acuna, Vickie and Jerry Comfort, all of McMinnville, Twana and Wade Odom of Grundy County; sons, Joe King of McMinnville and Joe Perry of Grundy County; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna L. King, Brenda S. King, and Myrna L. Bouldin, all of McMinnville, Alene and Steve Goolsby of Viola; brothers and sister-in-law, Randall R. and Tina King of Rock Island, Terry L. and fiancee, Terra King of McMinnville; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Dennis Campbell and Rick Lyles officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Tarlton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
