McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Willie Bouldin Barnes, 91, was born July 9, 1921 and died Dec. 31 at her residence following a sudden illness.
An retired employee of Hobbs Greenhouse, a member of VFW Post 5064 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Annie Martin Bouldin. She was married to James Benjamin Barnes, who preceded her in death in 1952. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Edward “Barney” Barnes; five brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, Theron, Alton and A.D. Bouldin, and three sisters, Claudia Widner, Kathleen Templeton and Elizabeth Graham.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Hilda and Mike Duke, Irene and Ron Glasener, Katie and Mike Weatherspoon and Jerry and Phyllis Barnes, all of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Janie Barnes and sister, Gloria Downham of Dayton, Ind.
Funeral service was held Thursday in High’s Chapel with Steve Hillis and Stan Stevenson officiating. Burial followed at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
