Rock Island resident and Detroit, Mich. native William Randall Fuston, 77, was born May 18, 1947 and died suddenly on the farm on June 28, 2024.
He served as the former president of Fraley's Furniture, retired toolmaker, former Fire Chief of the Rock Island/Campaign Fire Department, self-employed nurseryman, a faithful Christian of 66 years and a member of Smartt Church of Christ. He was the son of the late Elton and Billie Fuston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Linda Golden and brother, Steve Fuston.
He was married to Irene Elkins Fuston of Rock Island on March 21, 1975. In addition to his wife of 49 years, Mr. Fuston is survived by son, Brandon (Kara) Fuston of Rock Island and their children, Harper, Hollyn and Hayes Fuston; daughter, Randi (Philip) Turner of the Centertown Community and Philip's children, Ethan Turner (Savannah Kelley), Karagan (Tristan) Reish and grandson, Judd and many other family members.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1 in High’s Chapel with Steve Hillis, Richard Bowman, and Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial followed at Fuston Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation was Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at High’s.
