William Michael Keener, 59, of Smyrna died Monday. He was a member of Lifepoint Church in Smyrna and retired from Metro Nashville Fire Department after 36 years of service.He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mattox Keener; children, William Keener and wife Rose, Paul Michael Keener and wife Jamie, Katie Keener, Stephanie Mattox Elliott and husband Eric, Shauna Mattox Rigsby, all of Smyrna; mother Mary Joe Austin and her husband Riley of McMinnville; brothers, Steve Keener and wife Lisa of Manchester; stepbrothers, Mark Austin and wife Karen of Smyrna, Mike Austin and wife Barbara of Manchester, Thomas Austin and wife Michelle of Florida, Jimmy Austin and wife Annette of Cookeville; stepsister Leah Seals and husband Randy of North Carolina; seven grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his father, William Monroe Keener.
