Mr. William L. “Bill” Carter, 77, of McMinnville died Saturday, April 5, at River Park Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1936, in Van Buren County, was a retired maintenance manager with Carrier, a U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of Warren County Rescue Squad, and a member of North Hills Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by parents William Powell and Mattie Belle Mooneyham Carter, mother Sue Carter, sisters Barbara Collins and Jenis Carter, brother Jerry Carter, grandchild Baby Carter, and brother-in-law Clarence Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Barbara Hale Carter, their children Tina (Mike) Byars, Aric (Lisa) Carter, Tonia (Larry) Rader, Derrick (Kim) Carter, and Misty (Andrew) Gross; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Janis Adams and Joann (Jim) Reynolds, and sister-in-law Sharon Hale. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service was Monday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Michael Harris officiated. Interment followed at Over On The Hill Cemetery in Campaign. Online condolences may be made at
