William Joseph “Bill” Flanders

William Joseph “Bill” Flanders was born Sept. 12, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on Nov. 12 at age 78. 

He was preceded in death by his father William Hamilton Flanders and mother Corrina East Flanders. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Barton Flanders, his sons, Chris Flanders (Kelly), Paul Flanders (Emily) and his daughter Lauren Flanders Anderson (Bryan). His grandchildren are Miranda, Timothy Joseph (T.J.), Molly Jane, McKinsey Flanders, and Jacob, Hayden, and Reid Anderson. His sisters are Frances Bain (Joe) and Charlene White (Ron) and his brother is Bob Flanders (Gail). He has several nieces and nephews.

Bill was an alumnus of MTSU and proud sponsor of the Blue Raider Athletic Association. Bill began work as a public accountant with Davis and White CPAs and spent the larger part of his career with Dempsey, Vantrease and Follis. He also worked for a time with his brother in their nursery business at Botanico, Inc. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran. He was often found on the golf course with his buddies. He and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed spending time with close friends. Bill loved his family dearly, and his grandchildren brought him great joy.

Visitation will be held between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at First Baptist Church, 200 East Main, Murfreesboro. Memorial service will be held immediately after. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
