William J. Billy Joe Campbell, 67

William J. “Billy Joe” Campbell, 67, died peacefully in his home in Floral City, Fla., on Feb. 20. William was born Nov. 3, 1948 in McMinnville to the late Winford A. and Anna Frances Campbell.
He worked as a health physics technician in the nuclear power industry and served his country as a member of the United States Navy. In 1970, he moved to Citrus County from Dade City, Fla. He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting, and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley M. Campbell of Floral City, Fla.; three daughters, Stacy (David) Dates of Inverness, Fla., Angie (Randy) Headley of Floral City, and Nancy (Dickie) Headley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Jerry Campbell of McMinnville, and Roger (Brenda) Campbell of Spencer; two sisters, Amy (Jimmy) Swann of Dade City and Nancy Freedle of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren, Desmond, Zackary, Tanna, Andy, Quinton, Gabriel, Carrera, Randy Jr., Jordan, Joshua, Bryce and Asia; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Weston, Bella and Maverick; and sister-in-law, Sandy Campbell of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by sister Jeannie Ora Campbell; brother Jimmy Campbell; special niece Jessica McCall; and stepmother Velma Louise Campbell.
There will be a celebration of life service Thursday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, Fla., with Mr. Charles Murray of Skyview Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Gardens of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
