Mr. William Erbie Flynt, 85, of McMinnville, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at his residence. He was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Collins, Miss., was a veteran of the Army National Guard, and was a retired construction worker. He was a member of the Warren County Saddle Club in his earlier years, loved horseback riding, enjoyed working with leather, and his wife used to tell him that he was “a cowboy born in the wrong season.” Mr. Flynt was preceded in death by his parents, William Roscoe and Ruby Flynt; wife, Roberta Maples Flynt; sisters, Willie Mae Hosey and Jeanette Aldridge; and son, William F. Flynt.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Brad) Scheibmeir; grandchildren, Jessica (Dustin) Gibson, Dusty (Brandi) Taul, Melanie (Rhett) Osborn, Doug (Jessie) Flynt and Alex Flynt; great grandchildren, Riley Osborn, Ally Osborn, Zachary Osborn, Caleb Flynt, Malachi Flynt, Laila Flynt, Willow Flynt, Braxton Grimmett, Brayden Grimett, Atley Grimmett, Avery Grimmett, Rosco Gibson, Bo Gibson, Elijah Taul, Micah Taul and Jude Taul; daughter-in-law, Vicki Flynt; and special friends, Stephania, Sarah, Erika and David.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. on that evening at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
