Rock Island resident and Rutherford County native William David Skinner, 51, was born Aug. 15, 1964 and died Sept. 15 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a nine-month battle with melanoma.A floor technician with River Park Hospital, he was the son of Billy and Iva Skinner of Norris. He was married Sept. 4, 2007 to Kimberly March Skinner of Rock Island. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Kendra Skinner of Clinton; daughter, Lindsay Skinner of Manchester; two stepsons, Greg Gibson of McMinnville and LCpl. Mace Gibson of Rock Island; stepdaughter Megan Grissom of McMinnville; three grandsons, Riley Skinner, Weston Skinner and Dustin Thomas; two brothers and sister-in-law, Dan and Beverly Skinner of Woodstock, Ga., and Nathan Skinner of Knoxville; sister, Wendy Skinner of Knoxville; niece, Abby Skinner of Woodstock, Ga.; and nephew, Clayton Skinner of Woodstock, Ga.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Richard Bowman officiating.
