Mr. Warden Hulan George, 95, of McMinnville, (Centertown community) died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, at NHC Health Care McMinnville. He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Van Buren County, was a lifelong member of Centertown Church of Christ where he previously served as an elder, a retired service technician after 30 plus years of service with Sears & Roebuck, was a charter member of both the Centertown Fire Department and the Warren County E-911 Board, and was former president of the Centertown CIC. Mr. George served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps and was preceded in death by parents, James Melvin and Maggie Cole George; wife of 71 years, Arlene Denton George; his oldest son, Dannye Ray George; sister, Christine Lindsey; and brothers, Lloyd and Colbert George.

Survivors include his children, Janice (Tylee) Marcum, Connie (Tony) King, Gary (Debra) George, Alan (Julia) George and Bobby George; daughter-in-law, Jeanette George; grandchildren, Christa (Chris) Wood, Brandon Marcum, Briena Harmening, Matt (Jessica) George, Kayla Hale, Maria (Josh) Miller, Corbin (Sam) King and Dylan King; and great-grandchildren, Braden Marcum, Hayden Hale and Zoe Raye Wood.

Funeral service is scheduled for noon, Tuesday, Jan. 24 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Wayne Cantrell and Bro. Teb Batey will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Military grave rites will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at McMinnville Funeral Home. A fellowship meal will follow in the fellowship hall of the Centertown Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lunches with Love program at Ivy Bluff Church of Christ. The family wants to thank all the staff at Riverview Terrace, McMinnville NHC, and Caris Hospice for all the care and support given to our dad and to all the family.
