Virginia Ruth George, 89, a Rock Island resident and Warren County native, died July 2 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was a retired United States Post Office clerk and daughter of the late Vaughn and Hester Jaco Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Murl Brents George in 1980; brothers, Carl, Bryant, Herbert, Howard, James and Arthur Wright; and sister, Mary Yates.
