Virginia Mae Baker, 73, died Friday, Jan. 29, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.She was born to Irvin Elijah Lewis Curtis and Louise Howard Curtis on Jan. 5, 1943 in Greenville, Ky.Survivors include children, Carolyn Dunn of McMinnville, Darlene Slatton of Spencer, Emma Baker and Nicole Layne, both of Smithville, and Kim Smith and husband Gary of Spencer; grandchildren, Mitzi Grizzle and Kevin Grizzle, Johnathan Rigsby and wife Ashley, Dallas Slatton and Alexis, Trudy Smith, Hunter Layne and Emily Layne, and Stoney Kirby; great-grandchildren, Trad, Ally and Kara Grizzle, Jayson and Ayden Rigsby; and Brooklyn Slatton; siblings, Elijah Curtis, Michael Curtis, both of Spencer, Carl Curtis, Jean Myers, and Edith Dykes of McMinnville.She was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Officiating will be Bro. Tracy Curtis.
