Smithville resident and Painesville, Ohio native Violet Rose Meadows, 74, was born Feb. 8, 1940 and died Sept. 17 at Woodbury Health Care Center following a five-year illness. A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Helen Carroll McQueary.Mrs. Meadows was married Oct. 13, 1982 to Charles Meadows of Smithville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Michael Presley of Murfreesboro, and Mirandra and Craig Wyckoff of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Carl Eugene Meadows and Charlie Edward Meadows, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Helen McQueary of Smithville and Betty Meadows of Viola and brother-in-law, Wayne Meadows of Viola.Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Keith Pedigo officiating.
