Vernon Lee Fults, 90, died Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Saint Thomas Stones River Hospital in Woodbury.
He was born in Altamont on April 29, 1927 to Robert Lee “Bob” and Pearl Lee Payne Fults, who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Carl, Fred and Johnny Fults; sisters; Bertha Hobbs, Wilda Smartt and Ethelene Fults; daughter, Shirley Wanamaker.
He attended Sunny Hill Baptist Church. He loved to sing and play the guitar, collect arrow heads, make canes and play bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Newby Fults; daughters Edna (John) Anderson and Norma Fults; sisters Sue Nunley and Nancy Northcutt; brothers, Howard (Judy) Harvey (Kay), Donnie (Brenda) and Roy Dale (Lisa) Fults; stepchildren, Greg Cantrell and Lisa Tanner; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight step-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday at Layne Funeral Home with burial following at Fults Cemetery.  Howard Fults, John Jones and Dean Northcutt officiated,
Layne Funeral Home of Altamont was in charge of arrangements.
