McMinnville resident Steven William Palmer, 62, died July 6.Born April 3, 1954 to William Elgin Palmer and Trudy Irene Burdick Palmer of Lawrence, Kan., the family moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1957. In his early years, he enjoyed boating, water skiing and snow skiing with his family. As a teen, he became a very accomplished bird hunter and enjoyed doing so as often as he could.
