Shizue “Susie” Nakamura Young, 86, a McMinnville resident and Fukuoka, Japan native, was born June 21, 1930 and died March 17 at Saint Thomas West Hospital following a sudden illness.She was a homemaker and daughter of the late Ichitaro and Shio Nakamura. Mrs. Young was married to John Edgar Young, who preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons and daughter; three sisters; and two brothers.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Mark Harrell of McMinnville; son John Young of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Ryan and Kristy Boyd and Ali Young, all of McMinnville, Craig and Maria Boyd of Rock Island, and Tasha and Jason Johnson of Louisiana; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Boyd, Caroline Boyd, Issac Boyd and Kinsley Johnson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Ray Bauer and Jean Young, all of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rex Boles to officiate.
