Doyle resident and Warren County native Sheila Dodson Maples, 61, was born Aug. 8, 1953 and died Dec. 17 at her residence following an extended illness.
A retired CNA at NHC Healthcare in Sparta and a member of Friendship the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Gwen Youngblood of Rock Island, and the late James Reverdy Dodson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother Billy Dodson.
She was married May 2, 1970 to Doug Maples of Doyle. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two children and their spouses, Tammy and Wayne Seamons of Rock Island and Timmy and Shellie Maples of Viola; four grandchildren, Dakota Seamons and wife Cierston of Spencer, and Elijah Maples, Timothy Maples and Kane Fuqua, all of Viola; two great-grandchildren, Raylon and Rynn Seamons; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Rhonda Dodson of Manchester; two sisters and brother-in-law, Jamie and Mark Hess of Michigan, and Janey Bouldin of Doyle; three brothers-in-law, Steve Maples and wife Jackie of Chattanooga, Jerry Rogers of Hixon and Mike Maples of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Cindy Earl and husband Andy of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship the Baptist Church with Brian Jones and Jason Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Town Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at High’s.
