Rock Island resident and Coffee County native Sharon Joan Ferrell, 71, was born Oct. 15, 1942 and died May 13 following an extended illness.A retired pharmacy technician with Stewart Pharmacy and member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Murrell and Della Mae Tuck Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands and sister, Scharlotte Slone.Mrs. Ferrell is survived by three children, Paula Baughman of Plymouth, Ind., Melanie Price of Murfreesboro, and Sam (Connie) Williams of Estill Springs; four grandchildren, Natasha Baughman, Craig Metzger, Brien Metzger and Heather Metzger; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Brenda Robinson of Rock Island, and Jackie Hosse, Debbie McCormick and Lisa Hill, all of Campaign, and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Roy Terry and Ray Skyles officiating.
