Sarah Ponzell Usrey, 80, of Smithville passed away Thursday at her residence.
She was retired from Genesco, a member of New Union The Baptist Church and the Smithville Business and Professional Women’s Club. Mrs. Usrey was preceded in death by her husband, Arzie Usrey; and parents Brackett and Nadene Luna.
Survivors include two daughters, Deana (Jack) Green of Smithville and Cindy (Myron) Rhody of Dowelltown; one son, Rickey (Daphanee) Usrey of Centertown; six grandchildren, Racquel Zinskey of Pigeon Forge, Tracey and Tim Baker of Smithville, Reda and John Kerwood of Clarksville, Danny and Nicole Fish of Smithville, Brandi and Anthony Bennett of Japan, and Colton and Leah Rhody of Smithville; and 10 great grandchildren, Darrian and Bobby Ison of Arkansas, Samuel Richmond of Arkansas, Laura Beth Richmond of Arkansas, Katie Rose Richmond of Arkansas, Brayde Baker and companion Alexis Caldwell of Smithville, Trinity Noel Kerwood of Clarksville, Devin Fish of Smithville, Karah Fish of Smithville, Addison Bennett of Japan, and Harper Rhody of Smithville; one brother, Harold (Linda) Luna of Smithville; and one sister, Louise Wright of Smithville. In addition to flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Usrey to DeKalb County Relay for Life, New Union The Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Funeral service was held Sunday at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Interment followed at New Union Cemetery.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
