Roy Caswell Cornett, 77

Rock Island resident and Hamilton County native Roy Caswell Cornett, 77, was born July 26, 1940 and died July 22 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired engineer with DeZurik Corporation and a member of the Christian faith, he was the son of the late Elmer Roy and Mary Alene Moon Cornett.

He was married July 26, 1961 to Katherine Redmon Cornett of Rock Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Roy Steven and Treva Cornett of Rock Island, and Tammy Renee Cornett and Matthew Ballew of Rock Island; three grandchildren and spouses, Megan Rae and Stephen Cochran of Murfreesboro, Tiffany Jane Cornett of McMinnville, and Roy Traven and Kaitlyn Cornett of Rock Island; five great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Cornett of McMinnville; and brother and sister-in-law Mike and Christine Cornett of Crossville.


There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Mr. Cornett will be cremated per his request, and inurnment will take place at the family farm. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Gideon Bibles. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
