Roger Frederick Steurer, 84, of Smithville died Tuesday, Jan. 13, at River Park Hospital in McMinnville.
He was born June 7, 1930 in Royal Oak, Mich., was a telecommunications engineer with AT&T, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years both locally and in Michigan. Mr. Steurer was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Irene Bean Steurer.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Ann Steurer; children, Robin (Andrew) Alley, Regina Steurer, Ronda (Steve) Munkres, Ronald (Lisa) Steurer, and Rachel Steurer; grandchildren, Lauren Alley, Keaton Hall, Jackson Munkres, Henry Munkres, Ethan Steurer, Asher Steurer, and Beckett Steurer; sister, Marceline Crinnian, and nephew Charles Crinnian. Many other family members and friends also survive
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Tom Fittis will officiate. Interment will follow at Wood Cemetery. The Steurer family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online Condolences may be made at
