McMinnville resident and Warren County native Rodger Dale Smith, 60, was born Oct. 26, 1952 and died May 1 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.An employee of Oster Corporation and member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, he was the son of Jean Reed Smith of McMinnville and the late John D. Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Rains.Mr. Smith was married Feb. 17, 1990 to Ann Smith of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Gary (Betsy) Stubblefield of Chattanooga; Shawna Partin of California and Jim Bob (Michelle) Stubblefield of McMinnville; seven grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Howard) Mathis of McMinnville; niece, Wendy Stepp of McMinnville; two great-nephews, Dylan and Cameron; mother-in-law, Ruby Elkins of McMinnville; brothers-in-law, James (Nancy) Elkins of McMinnville and Franklin (Ann) Elkins of Manchester, and sister-in-law, Irene (Randall) Fuston of the Midway community.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in High’s Chapel with pastor David McMinn officiating.
