Muncie, Ind., resident and Coffee County native Robert Edward Elder, 82, was born Jan. 29, 1931 and died Nov. 10 at his residence in Indiana.Mr. Elder was employed by Borg-Warner for 31.5 years before retiring in 1988. He was a United States Air Force veteran of Korea and a member of Fountain Square United Methodist Church. He was a member of Maplewood Golf Course, an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed fishing.He was the son of the late Jesse and Nell Deberry Elder.
