Rick Jones, 54, a Murfreesboro resident and Warren County native, was born June 21, 1963 and died July 13 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following an extended illness.He was a graduate of Warren County High School and MTSU. Mr. Jones was a trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol for 25 years, Rutherford County Trooper of the Year in 2002, employed by MTSU Campus Police and a deputy for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro and son of Bob Jones of McMinnville and the late Helen Carol Richter Jones.In addition to his father, he is survived by stepmother, Peggy Jones of McMinnville; brother, Charlie Jones of Miami, Fla.; special friends, Lisa Marchesoni, Nicke Low and Alvin Baird, all of Murfreesboro and David Purkey of Morristown; and stepbrothers, Alan West and family and Jim West and family, all of McMinnville.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at First United Methodist Church in McMinnville with Bro. Bob Case and Bro.
