McMinnville resident and Christian County, Ky., native Richard Allen Borum Jr., 71, was born Sept. 9, 1944 and died June 27 at the VA TN Valley Healthcare System in Nashville following an extended illness.Retired from Yorozu, a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Browntown Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Richard Allen Borum, Sr. and Georgie Miller Curtis. He is survived by four children, Corey Smith and Sheila Fatty, both of Smyrna, Richard Smith of Nashville, and Vivian Womack of Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence Roy and Mary Curtis; aunts, Velma Smartt Williams and husband Richard of Hopkinsville, Ky., Bernice Smartt of Nashville, and Jackie Smartt of Memphis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral service will be held at noon Friday at High's Chapel with Eugene Wilkerson officiating.
