Campaign resident and Cannon County native Rexford “Rex” Lee Grizzle, 82, was born Feb. 13, 1930 and died March 5 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired carpenter and grocer and member of Campaign Church of God of Prophecy, he was the son of the late Hershel and Martha Williams Grizzle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Hawkins Grizzle; daughter, Patricia E. Grizzle Keyser; six brothers, Homer Roy, Clarence, Carlton, Floyd, Harvey and Dean Grizzle; sister, Edith Olene Grizzle and stepson, Gary Wayne Solomon.
He was married April 12, 1998 to Magdalene Solomon Grizzle of Campaign. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Geraldene and Jerry Roberts of the Irving College community; two grandchildren, Pvt. Houston (Brandy) Roberts of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Keri B. Roberts of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Brandelyn and Kaylyn Roberts of McMinnville; seven stepsons, Billy Solomon of Dallas, Ore., Bobby Solomon of McMinnville, Ricky Solomon of Cannon County, Michael Solomon and Freddie Solomon, both of Van Buren County; Duane Solomon of Portland and Johnny Solomon of the Rocky River community; many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Rick Lyles officiating. Burial will follow at Campaign Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service today at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
