Roseville, Mich., resident and Rutherford County native Ralph Wooden, 85, died July 23.The son of William Claude and Clarice Marie Reynolds Wooden, his family moved to McMinnville where he grew up and attended school. He served his country in the U.S. Army from July 1950 through July 1953 and was a Korean War veteran. He also served as a military police officer.He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie M. Winland Wooden; parents Claude and Clarice Wooden; sister Daisy D. Wooden; brothers Robert Earl Wooden, Lloyd Wooden, and James Carl (J.C.) Wooden; and two infant sisters.He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Ann and Greg Hillis; brother and sister-in-law, Joe D. and Bettye Wooden, all of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.He was buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich.
