McMinnville resident and Warren County native Penny Ann Clendenon, 63, was born June 23, 1953 and died Aug. 19 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a four-day illness.A substitute teacher with the Rutherford County School System and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Dorothy Elaine Dourin McCormick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Rodney McCormick.She was married Aug. 16, 1971 to Raymond Clendenon of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Lea Clendenon Gipson of Smyrna, six grandchildren Jordan Paty, Dylan Paty, Savannah Paty, Andrew Gipson, Mariah Gipson and Isaac Gipson, all of Smyrna, four brothers, David, Mike, Pat and Dennis McCormick, all of McMinnville, sister Cheryl Partin of Estill Springs, and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at High’s Chapel with Herschel Short officiating.
