Opal Inez McCormick, 73, of McMinnville died Thursday evening March 24 at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.
She was born Sept. 1, 1942 in Warren County, was a homemaker, and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, Toy and Lora Young West; sister Jeanetta Hennessee; brother Royce West, and daughter-in-law Tammy Hale McCormick.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Luther Davis McCormick; children, Greg (Pam) McCormick, Renea (Todd) Bess, and Brad McCormick; grandchildren, Daniel (Kristi) McCormick, Holly (Kevin) Johnson, Sandra (Jeremy) Evans, Justin Bess, Hunter Bess, and Winston McCormick; great-grandchildren, Shayna and Mason Johnson, Lucas and Emily McCormick and Kaylee and Ethan Evans; sisters, Linda (Charlie) Davis and Angelia (Ray) Elmy; brothers, Hoyte (Brenda) West and Douglas (Judy) West; sister-in-law, Elva West, and brother-in-law, Jerry Hennessee. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service was held Saturday at McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jerry Hennessee officiated. Interment followed at New Union Cemetery on Hwy. 30. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
