Opal Agnes King Davis, 96

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Opal Agnes King Davis, 96, was born Dec. 3, 1925 and died Aug. 27 at her residence following a brief illness.           

A homemaker and a member of Locust Street Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lillie Mae Cooley King. She was married on Nov. 29, 1947 to Will A. Davis, who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bearl Kirby Sr., brothers Avery, Osmond, Warnie, Orval, Robert Lee, Jr., Ray and Roy King, and sisters Inis Crowe and Jessie Watson.

Ms. Davis is survived by son and daughter-in-law Leonard Thomas (Donna) Davis of Allenhurst, Ga., three grandchildren, Bearl (Regina) Kirby of Morrison, Stephanie (Jimmy) Bolin of Crossville, and Scott Brown of Atlanta, Ga., one great-grandson Dustin Thomas Kirby of Morrison, sister Edna Campbell of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Funeral service and will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at High’s Chapel with Roland Sharpe and Scotty Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
