Morrison resident and DeKalb County native Ned Herrin, 75, was born March 23, 1937 and died Jan. 24 at his residence following an extended illness.A retired carpenter and member of Morrison Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Warren F. and Martha Bell Steele Herrin. He was married to Linda Hill Herrin, who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Francis Cantrell and five brothers, Frank, Oscar, Jim, Charlie and Robert Lee Herrin.Mr. Herrin is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Wade Farley and Armanda and Carlie Burgess, all of Morrison, and Clara Nell and Teddy Slatton of McMinnville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Pearl Herrin, Calvin and Mildred Herrin and David and Jo Herrin, all of Morrison, and Don Herrin of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Mike and Rita Brock; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in High’s Chapel with Roger Comstock officiating.
