Melvin Eugene Maxwell, 92, of McMinnville died Monday, March 9 at NHC Healthcare.He was born on Oct. 9, 1922 in Algood and was a certified public accountant, graduate of Tennessee Technological University, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during World War II, and received his master’s degree from George Peabody College at Vanderbilt. A member of First United Methodist Church, he chaired the Board of Trustees for a number of years. Mr. Maxwell also was a longtime member of the Warren County Board of Commissioners having a public service career that spanned 21 years; chairman of the commission’s Policy and Personnel Committee and vice chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee.
