Melody graduated from Tullahoma High School and earned associate degrees from Ricks College in Idaho and Motlow College, McMinnville campus. She served an 18-month mission in Arizona for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Melody also served for a short time in the U.S.
