Mary Nelle Elkins Hillis, 84, died Saturday, March 15 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.She is survived by her husband, Louie Hillis of Woodbury; nephews and nieces, Kimber Lewis Barton, V. of Nashville, David Wilder Barton of Alexandria, Va., Mary Elizabeth Parsons of Clarksville, and Amy Lynn Hiley of Mt. Juliet.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilder Carlos Burt and Viva Olive Jones Burt; her husbands, Paul Elkins and Max Ruhl and her sister, Rose Annette Burt Barton.A member of the Elkins Church of Christ, she was retired from Red Stone Arsenal where she worked for over 30 years.A graveside service was held at Monday at Elkins Cemetery.Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
