Mary J. Parker, 85, of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 21.


Mary was a founding member of First Baptist Church Tellico Village where she was a part of the building committee. She was a bookkeeper at Henegar Motor Company in McMinnville, and also Miller Motor Company in Loudon and Jim White Chevrolet in Lenoir City. Before a starting a family business, Parker & Sons Furniture & Carpet, from 1977 to 1989. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her hobbies were being a gardener, expert seamstress and homemaker. When she retired to Tellico Village she enjoyed golf and participating in her church. Mary was also a world traveler who especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii.


Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ray Lumpp, and parents Floyd and Florene Hooper. She is survived by her children and spouses Brenda and John DuPree, Johnny and Kathy Parker, and Paul and Donna Parker, grandchildren Mary Susanne Tyler (Aaron), John DuPree Jr., Charlie Parker (Taylor), and Morgan Benson (Blake), along with five great-grandchildren, Andrew Tyler, Ayden Tyler, Kamber DuPree, Kainaan DuPree and Mabry Parker.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to UT Hospice for its compassionate care.


The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the Click Funeral Home Chapel and then proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City, is in charge of arrangements, clickfuneralhome. com.
