Mary Helen Stewart Comer, 78, of Manchester died Wednesday, March 23 at the Harton Medical Center in Tullahoma.
She was a housewife and member of First United Methodist Church of Manchester. Mrs. Comer was born May 30, 1932 in Manchester to her parents, the late Herb Stewart and Martha Ann Cunningham Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Harry Comer; daughter, Pamela Jane Comer; and brother Ray Stewart.
She will be fondly remembered as one who “loved her roses” and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many people. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Craze and her husband Waymond “Hairy” of Manchester; son, Harry “Skipper” Comer and his wife Deanna of Hillsboro; sister, Betty Fetzer and her husband Buddy of Manchester; four grandchildren, Stephanie Basham (Ben) of Morrison, Brian Reynolds (Vanessa) of Manchester, Michael Comer and Morgan Comer, both of Hillsboro; three great-grandchildren, Bryson Basham, llyssa Collins and IIIeana Reynolds; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation with the family will be today from noon to 2 p.m. at the Central Funeral Home in Manchester. A private graveside service for the family will follow visitation today at 3 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
