Martha Eleanor Barnes, 79, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, died Jan. 19, at Raintree Manor following a one-year illness.She was the daughter of the late Joseph Tallman and Sara Ramsey Boyd, retired office manager for Dr. Michael Roberts, DDS and a charter member of Westwood Church of Christ.She was married to Cordell Barnes, who preceded her in death May 5, 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Stephen Joseph Cantrell; brother, Ramsey Boyd and father of her children, Robert Phifer.Mrs. Barnes is survived by two daughters, Sally (Paul) Cantrell and Cindy Phifer of McMinnville; grandson, Jeffrey P. (Wanda) Cantrell of McMinnville; great-granddaughter, Lauran Cantrell of McMinnville; brother, Joe (Mary Jo) Boyd of Smartt; aunts, Ruth Ramsey and Thelma Boyd of McMinnville; uncle, Hubert (Billie Gray) Boyd of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy Jack and Alice Barnes of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Kathy Boyd of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and best friend, Glyndon Pedigo of Cookeville.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ with Paul Roberts, Bobby Newby and Jeff Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory.
