Mark Patrick Cowans, 61, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Jan. 17 surrounded by his wife and children after an extended illness. Born March 17, 1956, he was preceded in death by parents William and Mary Cowans, sister Teresa, brother Timothy, nephew Caleb Sanders and niece Carmen Cowans West. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Garris Cowans, daughter Stephanie (Christopher) Falck of Burke, Va., Jennifer (Justin) Hershberger of Belton, Mo., grandchildren August and Catherine Falck of Burke, Va., two sisters, Chris Cowans of McMinnville, Mary (Ken) Sanders of Westminster, Colo., brother, Steve (Dorene) Cowans of Morrison, special friends, Melborne and Nan Overton of Brentwood.
