Mrs. Marie Wooten Goolsby, 79, of Morrison (Wesley Chapel community), died Thursday, March 15, at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.

She was born June 26, 1938 in Morrison, and previously worked at Carrier and for a certified public accounting firm in Manchester as a secretary. She was a member of Viola United Methodist Church. Mrs. Goolsby was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Hester Henley Wooten, husband William Alex “Bill” Goolsby, and stepmother Georgia Hollingsworth Wooten.

Marie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lisa Goolsby, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Prater, grandchildren Cody Goolsby-Cole, Toby Goolsby, Michaela (Jamie) Sain, and Colton Prater, and her in-laws Mini Anderson, Donna and James Goolsby, Henrietta and George Welch, and Jimmy Ray Watkins.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Roger Brown and Louis Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The Goolsby family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Sunday from 12 p.m. noon until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
