Lois Vivian Evans was born Nov. 1, 1917 in Warren County, the daughter of Joe Evans and Helen Brady Evans. She attended Fairview Grammar School and graduated from Irving College High School. She married Eben N. Gilbert and they had one son, Eben N. Gilbert Jr. When Mr. Gilbert died, after 48 years of marriage, she was wed to three other husbands, J.B. Jordan, Richard Turner, and Jack Hennessee, who preceded her in death.
