Leonard Floyd Gross, 93, died Monday May 12 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, deacon of Grace Baptist Church, and charter member of Beersheba Springs Rescue Squad and Fire Department. He was born in Gross’ Cove on April 7, 1921 to John and Frances King Gross, who preceded him in death along with his wife, Loretta Walker Gross; sisters, Ollie Bell Tate, Stella Coppinger, Helen Wanamaker, Elizabeth and Beatrice Gross; and brothers, Fred and J.L. Gross.He is survived by his son, Rev. Johnny (Diane) Gross; daughter, Linda (Donald) Boyd; grandchildren, Chris Boyd, Tracy Jennings, Kim Fults and Amanda Eubanks; 10 loving great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with ministers Johnny Gross and Dwight Walker officiating, with burial to follow at Grace Chapel Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
