Mr. Larry Glen O’Neal, 74, of McMinnville, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County, Cookeville. He was born May 18, 1948, in McMinnville, and graduated in 1966 from Central High School and was an outstanding Bulldog football player and attended MTSU. Larry was a heavy equipment operator, landscape contractor and co-owner of O’Neal Landscaping. Larry was a talented poet and loved playing the harmonica, making music and enjoyed spending time with friends. He loved his little dog, Pete, like his own child and missed him greatly after he passed away. He was a devout Christian who was active in many prayer groups and loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Glen and Clella Christine Gribble O’Neal and grandparents, paternal: Joe and Addie O’Neal and maternal: Sutton and Dell Gribble.
Mr. O’Neal is survived by his brother Dwight (Hannah) O’Neal; sisters Susan (Gene) Barnes and Cynthia (Joseph) Garner; nephews and niece, Joe (Hanna) O’Neal, Chris (Casey) O’Neal, Jacob Barnes and Miranda (Brandon) Raper; and great nieces, Annabelle O’Neal, Brenley O’Neal and Emersyn O’Neal.
A memorial service and celebration of life for Larry will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Donald Vinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home.
