Larry Dwight Boyd, 70, of McMinnville passed from this life Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

Larry was born Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1948 in McMinnville, the son of the late Charles Boyd and the late Nora Thelma Hodges Boyd. He worked at Automatic Bar Production in McMinnville and was a member of Pioneer Community Baptist Church.

He is survived by wife Lanna Sharon McBride Boyd, daughter Khrystal Whitfield and husband Joe, son Charles Boyd and wife Betty, eight grandchildren Stephan, Bryan, Devon, Hannah, Aaron, and Libby Whitfield, and Lola and Eli Boyd, four great-grandchildren Joslyn, Naomi, Anna and Hayes Whitfield, three brothers William “Bill” Edward Boyd, Garry Wayne Boyd and wife Diane, and Jack Michael Boyd, two aunts Winonna Powers and Bonita Boyd, many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by grandparents Arcie and Josie Boyd, two aunts and two uncles.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Anthony Campbell and John McKelvey officiating. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at gardensofmemoryfuneralhome.com.
