Joyce Rae Slatton, 73, of Rock Island died Saturday, Dec. 17, at NHC HealthCare in McMinnville.She was born Sunday, March 28, 1943 in Winter Haven, Fla., the daughter of the late Solomon Ray Weston and Margaret Louise Bell Weston. She is survived by her daughters, “Summer” Margaret Smith of Leesburg, Fla., Robin Sloan of Clearwater, Fla., and Connie Ditmore of McMinnville; son Robert Slatton of Woodbury; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother Bernie Weston of Havana, Fla.; sister Betty Spurlin of Winter Haven, Fla., several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. At her wishes she is being cremated and no formal services will be held.
