Johnnie Ray Morris, 87, of Spencer died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at NHC Healthcare of Sparta.
Johnnie was born Monday, Feb. 10, 1930 in Dayton and was the son of the late John Morris and Evie Simmons Morris.
 He was a member of Brockdell Church of God. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Annette Hitchcox Morris, sister Mary Lynn Bumbalough, stepson-in-law, Doris Dukes, three sisters-in-law, Vivian Webb, Sue “Eliza” Melvin Walker, and Rebecca Morris, stepdaughter, Tammy Steele, two step-granddaughters, Tosha Dukes and Jouri Steele, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
 In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Morris, stepdaughter, Wanda Dukes, two sisters, Delphia Russell and Hazel Morris, five brothers Brady, Billy, Bobby, Minnie, and Claude Morris.
 A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Spencer Funeral Home with David Rogers and Jimmy Walker officiating. Interment will be in Hitchcock Cemetery in Pikeville.
 The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and again Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spencer Funeral Home 16000 Hwy 111N Spencer 38585. Online condolences may be made to the family at spencerfuneralhome.net.
