Rock Island resident and DeKalb County resident Johnnie Mae Jones, 75, was born March 24, 1940 and died June 7 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.A self-employed nursery worker and farmer, and a member of Friendship the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Brackett Estes and Chloe Mae Stoner Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Geraldine Reynolds, Faye Hobbs, Frances Wilson and Opal Cantrell; and grandson, Jeremy Lee Freeman.She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Ann Freeman of Rock Island; adopted son, Paul Dennison of Rock Island; granddaughter, Chloe Leann Freeman of Rock Island; great-grandson, Jeremy Alan Lamb of Rock Island; adopted grandson, Jeffery Dennison of Columbia; longtime companion, Wayne Green of Rock Island; two sisters, Arlene Oakley and Gail Bouldin, both of McMinnville; two brothers, Burton Jones of McMinnville and Clifton Jones of Old Hickory; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Jefferson Cemetery, DeKalb County with Ted Jones and Danny Jones officiating.
